Prerequisites
- You have created customers in Quickpass either manually or by importing from IT Glue via integration. https://support.getquickpass.com/hc/en-us/articles/360035206574-How-to-Create-New-Customer
- You have installed the Quickpass Active Directory agent. https://support.getquickpass.com/hc/en-us/articles/360035206994-How-to-install-the-Server-Agent-Manual-and-Silent and/or connected your Office 365 / Azure AD tenant https://support.getquickpass.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039678373-How-to-Connect-a-Azure-Office-365-tenant-to-Quickpass-Customer
1. Click on the Customer you want to import accounts into
End-User Accounts
Active Directory Only / Hybrid Environments with Microsoft Azure AD Connect
Note: Skip this section if importing from Office 365 or if you want Quickpass to sync your AD and O365 passwords.
2. Click +IMPORT ACCOUNTS button
3. Select Password Sync: OFF then click the CONTINUE button
Note: This option will only show if you have not yet imported any End-User Accounts into Quickpass. If you already have end-user accounts imported and you want to change this option you must first delete the end-user accounts in Quickpass then re-import them.
4. Select Active Directory as the directory source to import from.
5. Select the Organizational Unit that contains the end-user accounts you wish to import.
Note: Only the organization units that contain user objects will be displayed. Also, the following Active Directory container folders will be hidden.
6. Select the end-user accounts you wish to import then click the ADD button at the top of the window.
- Note: E-mail addresses listed in the E-mail address field for the user in Active Directory will be auto detected and imported into Quickpass. Users without an e-mail address will be required to be entered after the user is imported.
The end-user account will now appear in the End-User Accounts menu.
Note: In this use case Microsoft Azure AD Connect will look after synchronizing the password between Active Directory and Office 365 so there is no need to import or match the account with Office 365 from Quickpass.
***Important***: Quickpass will enhance AD Connect by automatically running the AD Connect Delta update PowerShell script whenever we detect a password reset in Active Directory or from our system. This eliminates the 15 mins time delay for AD Connect to sync passwords between Active Directory and Office 365.
Hybrid Environments without Microsoft Azure AD Connect
Note: Choose this option if you want Quickpass to synchronize end-user account AD and O365 passwords instead of using Microsoft Azure AD Connect.
2. Click +IMPORT ACCOUNTS button
3. Select Password Sync: On then click the CONTINUE button
Note: This option will only show if you have not yet imported any End-User Accounts into Quickpass. If you already have end-user accounts imported and you want to change this option you must first delete the end-user accounts in Quickpass then re-import them.
4. Select the Organizational Unit that contains the end-user accounts you wish to import.
Note: Only the organization units that contain user objects will be displayed. Also, the following Active Directory container folders will be hidden.
5. Select the end-user accounts you wish to import then click the ADD button at the top of the window.
6. You can now Match the Active Directory end-user accounts with their associated Office 365 mailbox accounts.
Note: You can match any Active Directory account with any Office 365 mailbox when manually matching
Manual Match
Drag and drop the Active Directory end-user account from the left to the Drag and drop AD User box on the right hand side.
When done click the ADD button near the top of the window.
Auto Match
Alternatively, Quickpass can automatically match the Active Directory with an Office 365 mailbox account if the Display Names for the accounts match.
To use the auto match feature click the AUTOMATCH button.
Once the matched are found you will be shown a summary screen.
Note: Matching is done via Display Name field. If the AD and O365 Display Name match Quickpass will present these as a match.
When done click the ADD button
After the end-user accounts are imported you will notice that both the Active Directory and Office 365 status dots are green.
Note
- When the AD/O365 Password Sync is On the email address will be taken from the Office 365 mailbox while all other user info will be taken from Active Directory.
- When the AD/O365 Password Sync is Off the email address is taken from Active Directory if you are only importing an account from Active Directory or from Office 365 when only importing the account from Office 365.
- For Active Directory only accounts if the email address was not in Active Directory user object email field you will need to type the email address for the user then click tab or click in another area on the page to accept it.
