Description
To match Administrator, Service, and End User Accounts that have been imported from Active Directory, Office 365, or Local accounts to IT Glue password entries.
Process
Once Administrator, Service Accounts, and End User Accounts have been imported into Quickpass (see this article if you have not imported your accounts), you can link them to IT Glue password entries. Note: The screenshots below are from the Administrator Accounts screens, however the process for Service Accounts and End User Accounts is identical (simply ensure you start the process within the Dashboard section you are trying to link to IT Glue). Linking End User Accounts, to IT Glue, is not required and will depend on your need to store End User password entries in IT Glue.
1. Click the Match Accounts button, then select IT Glue.
NOTE: Quickpass makes extensive use of the ITGlue Category values for the matching during the Automatic Import process. If you have existing ITGlue Password Entries that you want to ensure are automatically matched during Automatic Import or during the Manual Matching process, please ensure that those entries are updated with the following Category values:
Account Source | Category Name |
On Premise Active Directory | Active Directory |
Azure/O365 | Office 365 OR Microsoft 365 OR Azure AD OR Azure Active Directory |
Local Account | Local Account |
2. The Match Accounts function will scan through your user list, attempting to automatically match to users in IT Glue. If an automatic match is found, you will see the 3 star icon on the line item, and a matching account will be displayed on the right side. For automatic matched, you simply need to click Save.
If a match is not found, you have an option of either manually matching to the correct user, or creating a new user in IT Glue if it doesn't currently exist. To create a new user in IT Glue, simply check the box to the right of the user you'd like to add, then click Save.
If an automatic match is not found, it typically means that the user either doesn't exist, or the entries do not match exactly between Quickpass and IT Glue, i.e. spelling mismatch, or the ITG entry's Category value does not match the account source of the account imported to QP that is attempting to match.
In this case, you can manually match the account by clicking Match with IT Glue Password Entry, then selecting the proper user and clicking Select.
Make sure to click Save to save your changes.
Match Status
With multiple matching options (Automatic, Manual, and adding to IT Glue) available, you have the ability to filter what accounts you are seeing. You can view All, Unmatched, Suggested Matches, and Matched.
These options allow you to see just the specified accounts. If you use one of these filters and make selections/assignments, or choose to add a new entry into IT Glue, You will need to click Confirm Matches to proceed.
Clicking the Confirm Matches button will take you back to the "All" list, allowing you to see all entries and your selections before clicking Save.
Once your account matching is complete, your End-User list should have the IT Glue logo on the Integrations column, for any account that you've matched.
Important - IT Glue Password Vault: Passwords from IT Glue that are added to the IT Glue host proof Vault are not supported. In this case neither IT Glue or Quickpass will have the ability to read and/or update the password for any matched accounts.
Important - IT Glue Password Security set to "Only Me": Passwords in IT Glue that have visibility security set to "Only Me" are not supported as this setting will move the password entry to the "Personal" password entries list.
Auto Match Criteria
Quickpass will look for IT Glue password entries that satisfy the following criteria:
Active Directory Accounts and Matched AD / O365 Accounts
- Username = samAccountName (Ie. Username = jsmith)
- Username = userPrinpalName (Ie. Username = jsmith@quickpass.local)
- Username = domain\samAccountName (Ie. Username = quickpass\jsmith)
Office 365 Accounts
- Username = userPrincipalName (Ie. Username = jsmith@quickpass.com)
If Quickpass finds suitable matches it will list the results and allow you to select all and click the Save button to complete the process. If no matches are found you will see a message on screen showing No Matches Found.
