Concept
An MSP may want to import or migrate passwords initially stored in another solution into Quickpass Tech Vault.
Prerequisites
- Tenant is Enabled with Quickpass Tech Vault
- Tenant has QDesk, QGuard, or Bundle Account Plan
- Customers are already created on the Quickpass Dashboard https://support.getquickpass.com/hc/en-us/articles/360035206574-How-to-Create-New-Customer
Preparation
- Download the attached CSV file to use as a Template.
https://support.getquickpass.com/hc/en-us/article_attachments/6653596882583/QPMPasswordImport.csv - Export the Password entries from your existing password storage solution.
Implementation
- The attached CSV file has the required Column Headings for the Import process.
- Populate the values for the entries you want to have created in the Quickpass Tech Vault
- Customer Name - this needs to match EXACTLY as you have the name of the Customer on the Dashboard and the Password entry will be created in the list of Passwords for the specific Customer.
- If you want to match your existing Customer Name list to your export, you can use the Customers Report to extract the list of Customer Names as you have them in Quickpass, or you can rename a Customer to match what you have in your export.

- If you want to match your existing Customer Name list to your export, you can use the Customers Report to extract the list of Customer Names as you have them in Quickpass, or you can rename a Customer to match what you have in your export.
- Display Name - this is the value that will be displayed on the list of passwords. This is a basic description of the password entry. (For example: Customer Router, Network Switch, WAP on Floor 2, VMWare ESXi Download Login, etc.)
- Username - this is the username/account name (required field)
- If you don't have a username you could use a placeholder of the " - " or "~" character (hyphen or tilde)
- If this value is blank or the column is missing from the CSV this password entry would be skipped.
- Computer Name - this would be used if the account is linked to a specific computer
- Password Type - this is the type of password entry. Any values that do not match this list or if this value is blank, the Password entry will be created with a "blank" value.

Confirmation of Creation
Once the Accounts have been imported, you should see them in Passwords Section under each Customer
- To view a list of successfully imported accounts, go to the Events section and look for the Event "Password Import".
- A list of the account names for each Password Entry that was created should be displayed.
