Concept
If a Tenant is switching from Quickpass Tech Vault to ITGlue or Hudu, there is a specific process that should be followed. This article will detail the process to switch the Password Rotations and End User Password storage (if enabled).
Prerequisites
- Primary or Super Login Role
- Admin Access to the new Password Storage/Documentation utility
- An understanding of how the new Password Storage Utility needs the accounts and password information formatted in order to import the old data from Quickpass.
- Familiarize yourself with the Password Storage Utility Integration Process that you are going to be moving to

Process
Preparation
- Please go to the reports screen of the QP Dashboard and export the CUSTOMER, PASSWORD ROTATIONS (Administrator and Service Accounts) and SELF-SERVE (End User Accounts), and Password Vault CSV files.
- The Password Vault CSV file will be all of the CURRENT passwords for any of your existing saved Administrator, Service, or End User Accounts. The unlinked or 3rd party passwords (Documentation style passwords) will be noted in the Quickpass Account Column.
- You would only need to export this CSV if you want to keep track of the existing passwords for your customer accounts.
- In the Customer CSV file export, you would want to take note of the Customers names. You can use these to create the appropriate Organizations/Companies in the new Password Storage Utility.
- In the Password Rotation (Administrator Accounts) CSV file export, you would want to pay attention to
- Column J (Auto Rotate) as this will also be important when re-enabling the Password rotations for the administrator and service accounts once integrated with ITGlue.
- Column G (QP Status). In the Quickpass Tech Vault, all accounts that are imported in Administrators or Service accounts automatically have the password storage turned on. You will need to decide if you want to continue to store these passwords in the new Password Storage Utility
- Column D, L, M, N. These are the currently defined rotation schedule values. You will need to reset these once the new Integration is ready. You can keep the new rotation schedules the same or change them to different values if you wish.
- In the Self Serve (End User Accounts) CSV file exported, you would want to pay attention to Column F (Password Stored On) as this will be important when enabling the password Matching if you do this for your Customer(s)' End Users. Those passwords that are currently tracked for End Users would be set to "ON".
- The Password Vault CSV file will be all of the CURRENT passwords for any of your existing saved Administrator, Service, or End User Accounts. The unlinked or 3rd party passwords (Documentation style passwords) will be noted in the Quickpass Account Column.
- Ensure that the Customers/Organizations are created in your new Password Storage Utility.
- You can also use the previously exported CSV files to import data into the new Utility. (You would have to research how this would be accomplished as each solution does this differently)
- Advise Quickpass support (support@getquickpass.com) or click the Customer Support link on the dashboard and fill in the form.
- Explain that you have done all of the preparation work required to move from Quickpass Tech Vault to another Password Storage Utility
NOTE: Once we disable the Quickpass Tech Vault we do NOT have a way of retrieving any password information from your previous configuration. Ensure that ALL of your required passwords are no longer needed. (run 1 more export of the Tech Vault if you think something might have changed since the initial export)
- Explain that you have done all of the preparation work required to move from Quickpass Tech Vault to another Password Storage Utility
- Log ALL of your team out of the Quickpass Dashboard and advise them to not log back in until advised that we have completed the switch.
- When we advise the switch has been made on our end (usually takes about 15 minutes to complete) Log back in with a Super or Primary account.
- Review the Integration articles for your particular Integration and enable the Integration

- Click the Rotate Settings - Service Link and set the values you saw on the Password Rotation CSV (or new values if you want to change) and click Save.
- Match the Accounts that you had originally stored the passwords for from the Reports you initially exported.
NOTE: If you have not imported the original password values from these CSV files previously, you CAN push the password entries into the Password Storage Utility - just be aware the password entries will only have the placeholder values until the next rotation.- SelfServe CSV - These are the End Users that you wanted to track the passwords for.
- Rotation CSV - These are the Administrator and Service Accounts you had stored
- Enable the Password rotation toggle switch for any accounts you wish to resume automatic rotation. You can do this per account using the Toggle on the right side of the account OR select in bulk using the checkboxes and then selecting Enable Password Rotation from the Header Bar.
